Ropeconin tuotantotiimi eli conitea valitsee kunkin vuoden tapahtumalle teeman, joka inspiroi tapahtuman ohjelmaa ja visuaalista ilmettä. Teema näkyy peleissä, työpajoissa ja luennoilla sekä usein myös osallistujien pukeutumisessa.
Uudet maailmat avautuvat vaatekaapeista ja niihin joudutaan kaninkoloihin putoamalla. Seikkailijat tutkivat tuntemattomia mantereita ja megakorporaatiot etsivät uusia tähtijärjestelmä valloitettaviksi. Mikä tekee uudesta maailmasta uuden, ja kenelle? Yhden uusi maailma voi olla toisen tuttu kotimaailma.
Uusiin peleihin, pelityyleihin ja peliharrastuksen muotoihin tutustuminen voi avata uusia maailmoja harrastajalle. Uusia maailmoja voi luoda, suunnitella ja kuvitella taiteen keinoin. Lisäosat ja uudet pelikartat, versioinnit ja tulkinnat sopivat myös yhdeksi tavaksi tutkia vuoden teemaa.

Ropecon’s theme for 2025 is new worlds
Conitea, Ropecon’s production team, chooses a different theme for each Ropecon. The theme inspires both the event’s program and look. The theme can be found in games, workshops and lectures, and often in participant’s costumes as well.
You can find a new world in your wardrobe or fall into one through a rabbit hole. Adventurers often explore unknown continents and megacorporations search for new star systems to conquer. What makes a new world new, and to whom? One’s new world can be another’s home world.
Getting to know new games, playing styles and new forms of the gaming hobby can open new worlds for players. You can create, design and imagine new worlds through art. Expansions, new maps, new versions and readings can also be a way to interpret this year’s theme.
New worlds are an invitation to adventure and exploration. Take a look at an old world with a new perspective, design a new, better world, familiarize yourself in the real and imagined history of discovering worlds or just join us to find out what new worlds you can find at Ropecon this summer.
